FAQs

Why do you need my phone number?

A. Groupcall does two things with your phone number, first we try to give you the closest local number to yours, second we use call ID when you are accessing the group call so that we can place you into the correct group with your friends or coworkers.

Why is my phone number not recognized?

A. Usually the case is your caller ID is blocked. You have two options press 1 after the voice prompt and enter your phone number or use a phone with no caller ID blocking in place.

What phone can I use to join the GroupCall?

A. You can use any kind of phone you can find. (e.g. Cell phone, house phone, work phone, rotary phone, football phone, Big Mac phone, old time phone booth.)

How do I send out the GroupCall Invites?

A. In the “Group Info” fields you can enter the email address for your friends or the number they can receive text messages on.  In the invite you sent is a link for them to click and accept your invitation to the call and find out what time it will take place.

Are you spamming my friends?

A. The email address and phone numbers used to invite your friends are safe.  We hope they will be impressed with our service and use it again.  First impressions are everything!

Is it really FREE?

A. Yes it is! We are not charging you for the service at all.  When you call into your GroupCall you are using your phone and current service provider.  Whatever your provider is charging for local or domestic calls is your only cost, we add nothing to it or bill your provider.  We suggest you use your Free Nights and Weekends and talk all night will not worries!

Is international really Free?

A. Yes it is! Depending on what country your friends are in we will give them a local domestic number in that country for them to call.  So when you talk to them through GroupCall you are both using local phone numbers at the same time.  There is not limit to the number of different countries on the call.  Speak to all your friends in the Asia at the same time for free, we dare you!

Can I choose a Dial In number?

A. The friends you invite to your GroupCall may be all over the world when they get the message so one local number may not work.  Depending on where your invitees are when they call in is how we give out Dial In numbers, so you may all get different ones.

So how is the quality?

A. Great! Super! Awesome!!!  Well that is what we think.  Here is the facts.  Our system adds no noise to your call at all, we just take what we are given from your phones and then amplify it so all the other callers can hear you at he same time.  Since your phone connection is key, make sure you have a strong signal or you get to a quite place for the call.

When does the call start?

A. We are giving your a window of half hour around the start time you selected.  The person that created the GroupCall has to be dialed in for it to start.  Once the creator and at least one invitee is on the call it will open to whole group, and once the create hangs up the GroupCall is ended.  If an invitee calls in early they will hear our hold music until the creator calls in.

Can I set up more then one GroupCall at a time?

A. Yes you can.  Set one up for everyday if you wish.  Try not a have the start times overlap, because the people on the second call will be on hold until the creator dials in.

How can I access GroupCall?

A. GroupCall is currently a web service, so any way you can get to the site you can use it. We have designed it with mobile phones in mind, so it might look better on your Droid or iPhone.  In the near future you will be able to download an app for your Android, iPhone, and Blackberry.

Why should I sign up?

A. For the added features or course!!  Here is what you get.  1. You don’t have to enter your information every time you want to set up a call.  2. You can setup a contact list, it will be easier to select there email or phone number if it is already in the system. 3.
